Three Key Phases to Superior Medical Device UX

In the medical device industry, traditional design methodologies often fail to meet today’s user expectations.

Prioritizing a physical product over a digital solution or developing each in isolation creates a disjointed experience for users that ultimately hurts your brand.

To address this, we examined one of our own projects with Baebies to demonstrate how we could improve results with our three-phase approach:

• Phase 1 - Configuration Exploration: Identify the overall digital and physical system architecture for the device.

• Phase 2 - Interaction Development: Explore how the various hardware and software elements, along with user interfaces, can be integrated to operate the system safely, effectively, and efficiently.

• Phase 3 - Aesthetic Refinement and Implementation: Establish a unified visual brand language across the entire solution for a cohesive user experience.
